TESOL CANADA is Canada’s largest recognized "Online TESOL Centre" and the Only Official Centre to provide standards and accreditations to Teachers of English TESOL, French TFSOL and Spanish TSSOL across Canada and worldwide. There are certainly other respected National and Provincial TESL/TESOL organizations in Canada. However, TESOL Canada differs in its EFL & ESL hybrid and online teaching approaches both in Canada and abroad.
 

 
TESOL Foundation Program (150-hrs)
The TESOL Foundation Certificate program provides students with a fundamental understanding of ESL teaching methods that assists in the development of practical teaching abilities. Our school offers this TESOL with the highest global standards. Potential employment is from teaching in coaching in Language Schools & Private Colleges Worldwide. 150 hours of theory and teaching experience 
 

 
TEC Teaching English to Children (150-hrs)
Teaching languages to children requires exceptional talent and training.Students can complete TESOL Canada’s TEC, a carefully designed program tailored for teaching English to Children. Building on the Foundation program, the TEC program provides a concentration in the area of teaching ESL to children younger than 12 and includes 150 hours of theory and teaching experience 



CIT Certified International Translation (300-hrs)
The Certificate in Translation program is designed to provide students with fundamental skills in translation.
The program is a certificate in Translation available in 12 languages, specifically English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German, Arabic, Turkish, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Applicants may study certification programs in two or three languages, as they desire. The entire program is 300 hours of theory, reading, assignments and various translation projects completion.




Advanced TESOL Program (300-hrs)

The TESOL Diploma program is a comprehensive program of studies for teaching English to speakers of other languages, in Canada or abroad This program is recognized for professional certification by TESL Canada also provides students with a thorough understanding of ESL teaching methods that assists in the development of practical teaching abilities. This program teaches students not only how to teach but the reasoning and theory behind both the modern, accepted classroom practices of English as a Second Language teaching.
 
 


 



 












                                     IELTS    Program                                


Program Length: 120 Hours

Module 2: IELTS 5.5

This United Pacific College IELTS Preparation program is intended to equip students who are seeking to improve their standing in the IELTS Academic test with the exam and language skills necessary to do so. This program goes beyond the confines of the questions presented in the IELTS exam and seeks to improve the core English that is required for a satisfactory score. Thus, the program will include topics in speaking, listening, reading, and writing – along with specific test-taking skills for the IELTS Academic test.

 

The program consists of three, 40-hour modules which may be taken individually or as a two or three-module set.

 

The module each student starts with depends on their current English proficiency or IELTS band score.

IELTS Academic One
 
Course Description
This course is intended to equip students with a current IELTS band score of 5.0 who are seeking to improve their standing in the IELTS Academic test with the exam and language skills necessary to do so. This course goes beyond the confines of the questions presented in the IELTS exam and seeks to improve the core English that is required for a satisfactory score. Thus, the course will include topics in speaking, listening, reading, and writing – along with specific test taking skills for the IELTS Academic test.
 
Course hours: 38
Students are expected to do approximately two hours of homework every night.

Delivery Method:

This program is offered over two calendar weeks in-classroom, on-site at the United Pacific College Richmond location, #2385 – 2380, 8888 Odlin Cres., Richmond, British Columbia, V6X 3Z8. Class hours are 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

 

Required Text and Materials
The required texts (supplied by the college) are:
Natural English (Intermediate); Academic Vocabulary; Advanced Grammar in Use; Learning to Listen (Book 3); Inside Reading Book 3; Cambridge IELTS 4 & 5; Instant IELTS; Focus on IELTS; and IELTS Testbuilder.
 
 
Attendance Policies
Students are expected to attend every day of class, arriving on time, returning from breaks promptly and remaining until class is dismissed for the day.
 
Any student who misses 30% of the entire course hours will be withdrawn from the course, given a grade of Incomplete and will be required to re-take the course before going on to the next level.
 
 
Assessment and Grading
Students will receive their first assessment by the end of the third day (i.e. at the 30% point of the course) in the form of both written and verbal feedback on their performance in the four language skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.
 
At the end of the course, students will be given a practice IELTS exam with Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing components, with each component rated on the standard IELTS 9-point scale using the IELTS Public Descriptors and Raw Score Conversion Tables. Students must achieve an overall average score of Band 5.5 (61%), with none of the exam components rated below Band 5.0.
